Once upon a time, upon marrying the future Henry II in 1533, Catherine de’ Medici brought with her from Florence to France a vast and influential entourage that transformed French culture. Although some historians debate the full extent of this influence, it is undeniable that Catherine’s arrival marked the beginning of a fusion between Italian Renaissance refinement and French tradition. And here we are – somewhere in between these two outstanding cultures and its fairy tales.
